K2 Gold Corp is a Canadian mineral exploration company founded in 2010. The company primarily explores and develops gold projects in Canada and the United States. In its early years, K2 Gold Corp focused on acquiring and exploring gold properties in Ontario, Canada. The company's first major project was the Welsford Gold Project, which it acquired in 2012. The Welsford Project was located in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt and contained numerous gold occurrences and showings. In 2015, K2 Gold Corp expanded its operations to the United States by acquiring the McRae Gold Project in Nevada. The McRae Project was a high-grade gold project in the Battle Mountain-Eureka Trend, a world-class gold district in Nevada. Since then, K2 Gold Corp has continued to acquire and explore gold properties in Canada and the United States. In 2020, the company acquired the Mojave Gold Project in California, located in the prolific Mojave Mining District containing multiple high-grade gold targets. K2 Gold Corp has partnered strategically with other mining companies to advance its projects. For example, in 2020, the company entered into a joint venture agreement with Azimut Exploration to explore its Welsford Gold Project in New Brunswick.
