Led by Chairman and CEO Patrick Ryan, P.Eng., alongside CFO Peter Manuel and COO Mike Schrider, P.E., the company is developing its flagship Strategic Metals Complex (SMC) in Louisiana—an 80,800-square-foot facility designed for commercial-scale REE separation using its proprietary RapidSX™ technology. Ucore has secured significant U.S. government support, including an $18.4 million Department of Defense (DoD) award, bringing total non-repayable DoD funding to $22.4 million to accelerate production, with initial operations targeted for late 2026.

Financially, Ucore is funding its growth through a mix of government grants, private placements, and strategic partnerships. The company recently announced a brokered private placement of up to $10 million (expandable to $11.5 million) to support feedstock procurement, engineering, and working capital needs. While the company operates at a loss, it has mitigated cash burn through non-dilutive funding, including Canadian federal and provincial grants, as well as anticipated Louisiana state incentives worth up to $15 million.

In the near term, Ucore is focused on finalizing engineering, permitting, and demonstration testing for the Louisiana SMC while advancing its long-term Bokan-Dotson Ridge heavy REE project in Alaska. Ucore’s strategy aims to reduce reliance on Chinese-dominated REE supply chains by building a fully integrated North American critical minerals processing infrastructure.
